The word "Debris" in the context of the show depicts as much actual fragments of destroyed material as fragments of memory and meaning.
The gallery will be transformed into a state of carefully constructed, stylized destruction. Parts of a DC-9 passenger plane that crashed in 1981 in Corsica,
(collected by the artist during several expeditions to a mountain top) will be superimposed with the splintered fragments of a destroyed museum floor
recovered at the nearby Universal Museum Joanneum, currently under renovation.

“In the works featured in this show, all artists examine the contemporary urban environment that surrounds us.
Christoph Draeger’s pieces primarily deal with both natural and man made disasters: creating works that are based on historical events. Draeger raises the idea that disasters surround us continuously, however, it is only the ones that touch us personally that we recognise.”

“Hippie Movie is a funny, romantic documentary about a "hippie" movement, named Tropolicalia, which was founded by Draeger in Warsaw as an ironic revisiting of San Francisco’s Summer of Love, 1967. The film meditates on the political, social, and cultural behavior associated with the hippie movement, which confronted many issues—rising social injustice, an unpopular war, ecological concerns—that seem to be making a comeback today.”

Announcement of Christph Draeger’s project, “Black Zero,” one of the first multimedia performance works. The piece was written by Aldo Tambellini and Group Center and ran from 1965-1968.

It is “e-staged in its original form by the artist who created it, Aldo Tambellini. We are very pleased to announce that the music for the piece will be improvised live by William Parker (double bass), whom the Allmusic Guide calls Free Jazz's pre-eminent bass player today.”

Cow Maze idea
"Electric wire defines a simplified version of the maze from the movie 'The Shining' on a field of 50x100 meters.
During 3 months, cows were eating the accessible grass while in the in-betweens spaces the grass was allowed to grow high.
Now, the drawing of the maze is clearly visible from above and from space."
