“While Albers painted squares for decades to attempt to understand color and form, Slepian does not clearly address his medium, which cannot be taken at face value any more so than painting can. Through movement and a soundtrack of toy pianos and something that sounds like the compacting of a collapsible travel cup, these video installations poke fun rather than critique.”
