Packard Jennings was awarded the Artopia grant, one of three winnders for the $2,500 grant. This article discusses another winner of the Artopia event and 2010 awardees:
"Twelve mixed media artists vied for three $2,500 grants. The event showcased art as varied as a collaboration mural, dresses and a mechanical moving bird sculpture. “Diagram of Isolated Moments Forming a Memory by Adam Chapman (San Francisco, CA) is a single channel programmed animation, framed and mounted as if it were a traditional drawing, in which colored lines and forms swim around, periodically forming representational portraits of the artist’s close friends and family. Every second of the installation is original. The piece is rule-generated and not a fixed composition, with a complete two-hour cycle forming fifty portraits. Chapman seeks to capture those fleeting, euphoric moments in which one catches a glimpse of clarity; a second of understanding one’s self, as well as one’s relationships.”

Christoph Draeger’s movie, “The End of the Remake Trilogy: Hippie Movie” and two additional film shorts will be shown at the MoMA:
“Hippie Movie is a funny, romantic documentary about a "hippie" movement, named Tropolicalia, which was founded by Draeger in Warsaw as an ironic revisiting of San Francisco’s Summer of Love, 1967. The film meditates on the political, social, and cultural behavior associated with the hippie movement, which confronted many issues—rising social injustice, an unpopular war, ecological concerns—that seem to be making a comeback today.”
